Who I Am ~

Raised in Pueblo, CO as the eldest of six siblings, I remain very close to all of my brothers and sisters. My mother's family owned and operated the T.G McCarthy Funderal Home, founded by my great grandfather in the late 1800's. My father and Grandfather Baker were medical doctors, so while this part of my family brought people into the world, the McCarthy side graciously took over once they left.

By profession, I have been a substitute teacher in State College, PA, a researcher/writer at Penn State University, a classroom teacher in Colorado until 2003 and, currently, an author and freelance writer living in Denver.

Where I've Been ~

My husband, Gary, and I have lived in Lawrence, Kansas, Boulder, CO, Berkeley, CA, State College Pennsylvania, Oxford, MS and Denver, CO. We have traveled both within the United States as well as to Canada, Europe and Asia. We love to travel.

Retirement, et al ~

Retirement keeps me busy with writing, tennis, trips to the gym and  reading. My main priority is spending time with the five grandchildren so when the chance arises all else is put aside.

The author of several published articles,Out of Focus...Again is my first book.
